This particular lantern is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery, cutting down on disposable battery use and saving a bunch of cash over the life of the lantern. Plan to be away from power for a long time? Helix Rechargeable can operate on 3 AA cells if needed. The power dial controls dimmable white and red LEDs in the same intuitive manner as old-school gas lanterns. Lockout prevents accidental turn on, while a built-in USB port allows for charging a phone, GPS or other compatible device.
