A top-class, ultra-lightweight climbing helmet!

A top-class, ultra-lightweight climbing helmet!

The very low weight is achieved by using an EPP (expanded polypropylene) shell and an absolutely minimalist adjustment system.

In addition to the excellent cushioning properties of the EPP plastic, the helmet shell is also reinforced with a robust hard shell so as to guarantee maximum safety.

To help climbers keep a cool head when solving the next crux section, the Wall Rider is equipped with numerous generous ventilation openings.

The superb fit and the individually adjustable adjustment system ensure that the helmet sits perfectly on the head.

There are also two clips and a elast strap to attach a headlamp securely to the helmet.

IN-MOLD HELMET

In-mold helmets consist of a thin and relatively soft outer shell linked permanently to a shock-absorbent EPS core (polystyrene). This construction creates an excellent crumple zone with high shock-absorbent capacity. In-mold helmets are the lightest helmet types, and as a consequence somewhat more delicate.

HYBRID HELMET

The Hybrid helmet is a ‘halfway house’ between an In-mold helmet and a hard shell helmet. The helmet consists of a hard and stable outer shell, that nonetheless permits a degree of deformation. Inside support is provided by a partial EPS shell with shock-absorbent characteristics. The Hybrid helmet combines the positive characteristics of the two construction methods, and is an extremely robust allrounder.

EL CAP HELMET

Mammut’s El Cap climbing helmet represents the first ever use of two components of EPS technology: the EPS core consists of two styrofoam layers of different hardnesses bonded firmly together. The intermeshing structure of the two EPS components (Conehead technology) allows excellent absorption properties to be achieved. This new technology guarantees maximum safety in the event of a fall or an impact from a rock.
